CIM for Environmental Data

Few CloudsThe EPRI report on modelling environmental data has been published by EPRI.  The project was originally entitled CIM for Weather and was initiated to investigate utility requirements for exchanging and storing environmental data. The project sought toexplore whether the data could be modelled in a standard form compatible with existing utility information models, particularly IEC 61970-301/61968-11/62325-301 (CIM).

The project looked at several use cases from the primary sponsor, Southern California Edison, as well as taking input from other utilities, vendors, and consultants from around the world.

The report covers these use-cases, the other weather formats and models that influenced the standard and example CIM profiles for exchanging data as XML messages.

The report is a free download from EPRI and can be found on the EPRI Website
